How long does it take to get a library card?
Our librarian will be able to supply you with a new library card the same day you apply.
Are electronic books available?
No, not at this time.
Does the Library have "story time" for younger children?
We do offer "story time" for younger children! Give us a call if the current schedule is not posted.
What hours is City Hall open?
City Hall is open from 8am - 5pm Monday thru Friday.
Procedures & Fines
How long do I have to take care of a traffic ticket?
You have twelve (12) days from the date of the citation to contact the court and make a plea to the charges. You must enter a plea on each violation of Not Guilty, Guilty, or No Contest. If we do not hear from you within 12 days from the citation date, additional charges may be filed against you and a warrant may be issued.
If I plea Not Guilty, what do I have to do?
You must plea Not Guilty in person. When you plea Not Guilty to a charge, you will be provided an appointment to see the City Judge.
Can I pay my tickets by credit card?
Credit cards are currently accepted in person or by phone. Otherwise, we accept cash, money orders or cashiers checks. If you are mailing your payment, please put Attention Municipal Court.
Can I take Defensive Driving or get Deferred Disposition for my ticket?
You may be eligible for Defensive Driving for your citation or Deferred Disposition. Please contact the court clerk for more information.
What do I do if I have a warrant?
If you have outstanding warrants, you may do one of the following to have the warrants cleared:
- Set up payment plan, one payment plan is paid in full warrents will be cleared
- Pay the fine in full

I am interested in applying for a job with the City of Hudson, what do I do?
You will need to fill out an application . Please ensure you meet the qualifications for the position you wish to be considered for. If you would like to include a resume, simply attach it to the completed application. Please drop off the application at City Hall. Interviews will be scheduled accordingly.
Does the City of Hudson hire part time employees?
Yes, we do hire part time employees. Availability of these positions will be posted here when available.
Building Permits & Inspections
What is the process for getting a building permit?
Take a moment to read all required information provided. Then print and fill out the building permit application form and return to city hall. Should you have any additional questions, please feel free to give us a call or send us an email. We will be happy to help you.
Sanitation & Recycling
When are the garbage collection days for my street?
Please refer to the monthly schedule. Remember, observed holidays will alter the normal routine.
My bill is past due can I get an extension?
Please contact our office and a one-time extension will be extended to you for extenuating circumstances.
Why do I have a previous balance when I know I sent in my payment?
We may have received it after the due date or we may not have received it at all. Call our office and we will help you solve the problem.
Why is my water discolored?
A repair could have been completed recently allowing air to enter the line, causing the milky look.
