Gas & Electric Utilities

The City of Hudson does not provide electrical or gas services.

For properties within city limits, an electrical inspection (commonly referred to as a “permit” by Oncor) is required any time a new resident moves in or there is a change in electric service provider. This inspection must be completed before Oncor can activate, reconnect, or transfer electric service. There is no charge for this inspection/permit.

• This process is required by the City of Hudson to ensure electrical safety compliance prior to service activation.
• To schedule this inspection or for assistance, please contact City Hall.
• When contacting Oncor, residents should request an “electrical service inspection” or “service reconnection/transfer inspection” for City of Hudson requirements.
• If you are planning any electrical work or improvements, please refer to the City’s Permit page or contact City Hall before beginning work.

Residents outside city limits are not subject to this requirement.

Residents may choose their own electric provider. Please refer to the provided link for a list of available providers in the Hudson area.
