PUBLIC NOTICE - Mitigation Action Plan

Angelina County and the City of Lufkin have developed the Angelina County and City of Lufkin Hazard Mitigation Action Plan Amendment to include the Cities of Burke, Diboll, Hudson, Huntington, and Zavalla. A draft copy of the Plan is available for the public to review and to provide comments. The purpose of developing the Plan is to minimize or eliminate the long-term risk to human life and property from known hazards that impact the area, such as severe weather, floods, or wildfires, through effective mitigation.  

Angelina County and the participating jurisdictions are gathering input on the draft plan until April 29th, 2026. The draft plan can be viewed on the Cities or County's website. Comments can be emailed to pmorris@h2opartnersusa.com.
